Indications
This vaccine has been developed for use in breeder hens and replacement pullets to give broad protection against Reovirus related malabsorption syndrome and tenosynovitis. When injected, the vaccine produces a high level of circulating antibody (humoral immunity), which is maintained throughout the production cycle. This provides high levels of parental immunity in the progeny. This is the only way to provide protection to the chick during the critical first few days of life. Early infection with Reovirus is responsible for tenosynovitis and malabsorption syndrome with all of its various disease conditions (pale bird syndrome, femoral head necrosis, stunting disease, helicopter disease, etc.
Description
The vaccine is produced with high titering strains that is S1133 strain (a tenosynovitis pathotype) and the 1733 strain (a malabsorption syndrome pathotype). When injected, the oil emulsion controls the absorption of the virus and greatly enhances the development of high levels of immunity. The product meets rigid 'Quality Control' standards of Purity, Safety and Potency as per individual monographs of viral vaccines of B.P. (Vet).
Composition
Each dose contains not less than a pre-inactivation titer of 1 X 105.8 TCID50 1733 strain and 1 X 106.3 TCID50 S1133 strain.
Advantages
The vaccine is completely safe because it contains no living virus. It can safely be administered at any age. It cannot spread from vaccinated to susceptible flocks. It provides high and persistent levels of antibody in the dams to provide parental immunity to the progeny. Immunity is delivered to the farm with the chicks.
Dosage & Administration
Birds should be "primed" with attenuated live virus tenosynovitis vaccine at 7 days and at 12 weeks of age. Vaccinate between 16 to 20 weeks of age. If birds are held for a second year, revaccinate during molt. Dosage is 1/2 ml (0.5 ml) per bird. Vaccine should be brought to room temperature before use. Inject subcutaneously in the lower neck region using aseptic technique. Inject all birds in the flock. Shake well before use.
Warning: Do not vaccinate within 42 days before slaughter.
Caution
The capability of this vaccine to produce satisfactory results depends upon many factors, including - but not limited to - conditions of storage and handling by the user, administration of the vaccine, health and responsiveness of individual chickens, and degree of field exposure. Therefore, directions for use should be followed carefully.
Precautions
• Do not use chemical disinfectants for sterilization
• Remove the vaccine from refrigerator at least 1 day before vaccination for better results
• Use entire contents
• Shake well before and during use
• Vaccinate only healthy birds
• Use entire contents of bottle when first opened
• For veterinary use only
Packaging & Storage
The vaccine is available in 500 ml polypropylene bottles of 500 and 1000 doses, packed 18 bottles per case.
Store between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Protect from light.
