COMPOSITION PER ML:

Florfenicol 300 mg

INDICATIONS:

Diseases caused by ­orfenicol susceptible bacteria: therapeutic treatment of respiratory tract infections in cattle due to Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Histophilus somni.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Do not use in adult bulls or boars intented for breeding purposes. Do not use in cattle producing milk for human consumption. Do not use in cases of hipersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:

A decrease in food consumption and transient softening of the faeces may occur during the treatment period. The treated animals recover quickly and completely upen termination of treament. Administration of the product may cause in­ammatory lesion at injection site which persist for 14 days.

TARGET SPECIES:

Cattle.

DOSAGE AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:

20 mg/kg bodyweight (1 ml of SELECTAN per 15 kg) by intramuscular route to be administered twice 48 hours apart. The volume administered per injection site should not exceed 10 ml.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:

Meat and offal: 30 days. Not permitted for use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption.

SPECIAL STORAGE PRECAUTIONS:

Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Do not store above 25 ºC.

Do not use after the expiry date stated on the label after Exp. Shelf-life after ‑rst opening the container: 28 days.

SPECIAL WARNING(S):

The use of the veterinary medicinal product should be based on susceptibility testing and take into account of‑cial and local antimicrobial policies. Swab the septum before removing each dose. Use a dry, sterile syringe and needle. Care should be taken to avoid accidental self-injection. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. If eye exposure occurs, ­ush eyes immediately with clean water. If skin exposure occurs, wash the affected area with clean water. Wash hands after use. People with known hypersensitivity to ­orfenicol, propylene glycol or polyethylene glycol should avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product. The reproductive safety of ­orfenicol has not been speci‑cally investigated in pregnant cows. Use only accordingly to the bene‑t/risk assessment by the responsible veterinarian.

Do not mix the veterinary medicinal product with other veterinary medicinal products.
