GENTAMOX
Amoxicillin and gentamicin, in injectable suspension

COMPOSITION PER ML:
Amoxicillin trihydrate 150 mg
Gentamicin (sulphate) 40 mg

Amoxicillin and gentamicin are two known antibiotics that individually have particular and interesting therapeutic properties, and when acting together they have a broad antibacterial spectrum which includes Gram (+) microorganisms (mainly Streptococcus, Staphylococcus and Corynobacterium) and Gram (-) microorganisms (particularly Escherichia coli, Pasteurellas, Salmonellas and Pseudomonas). Moreover, tests “in vitro” have shown that they act synergistically. In addition, this product has excellent diffusion in the organism and the formulation in oil suspension results in a treatment with long lasting effects. The gentamicin-amoxicillin association, included in the product GENTAMOX, improves the therapeutic properties of each one of these antibiotics administered individually.

INDICATIONS:
Sheep and Goats: Pneumonia, Diarrhoea, Pasteurellosis and Collibacillosis.
Cattle: Pneumonia, Diarrhoea, Mastitis, Metritis adn Cutaneous abscesses.
Horses: Pneumonia, Diarrhoea, Genito-urinary infections, Strangles, Abscesses and Foot infections.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Prolonged treatment with doses greater than those recommended may cause renal disorders.

ADMINISTRATION ROUTE:
Intramuscular.

DOSAGE:
Cattle: 30-40 ml/adult animal/day; and 10-15 ml/calf/day.
Sheep and Goats: 5 to 10 ml/adult animal/day; and 1 to 5 ml/young animal/day.
Horses: 30 to 50 ml/adult animal/day; and 5 to 15 ml/foal/day.
Generally, administer 1 ml/10 kg b.w./day, for 3 days. When large volumes are administered, it is advisable to inject the volume at two inoculation sites to favour absorption.

OVERDOSE:
In the case of an intoxication due to an overdose, discontinue treatment and administer a symptomatic therapy. To avoid this type of problem, do not administer more than 3 ml/10 kg b.w.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Meat: 30 days.
Milk: 2 days.

OBSERVATIONS:
- This product contains a mineral oil based compound. It may cause severe pain and in¬ammation in the case of accidental self-injection. Clean and disinfect the wound immediately, see a doctor and show him this lea¬et.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
- Shake vigorously before use. If the bottle has been allowed to stand for some time, a separation of the product into two phases may occur. It will be easily resuspended after agitation.
- Do not store above 25 ºC. Protect from light.
