HIPRAVIAR TRT

Inactivated vaccine against Turkey rhinotracheitis and Swollen head syndrome, in injectable emulsion

COMPOSITION:

Inactivated TRT virus. Apart from a suitable handling, the prevention of turkey rhinotracheitis (TRT) in turkeys and swollen head syndrome (SHS) in hens and chickens also requires the establishment of the corresponding hygienic and sanitary measures, as well as an adequate prophylactic programme with speci­c vaccines. HIPRAVIAR TRT is an inactivated vaccine intended to prevent the appearance of such processes.

INDICATIONS:

Hens (Chickens, Future breeder chicks and Future layer chicks) and Turkeys: Prevention and control of the swollen head syndrome and turkey rhinotracheitis.

DOSAGE:

1 dose of 0.5 ml/bird.

ADMINISTRATION ROUTE:

Subcutaneous, into the mid back region of the neck, or intramuscular, into the breast muscles. The subcutaneous route is always recommended for poultry used for meat (Chickens and Turkeys).

Suggested vaccinal schedule:

Chickens: Within the ­rst 15 days of age.

Future breeder chicks and Future layer chicks: Before laying (18 weeks), although under veterinary prescription, the vaccine can be administered at any time during raising or breeding, as long as vaccination is always carried out 18 weeks before laying.

Turkeys: Within the ­rst 20 days of age.

ADVERSE EFFECTS: None.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE:

- Only vaccinate healthy animals.

- Since the vaccine is packaged in a multidose bottle, the entire vaccine should be used once the bottle has been opened.

- Shake well before use.

- Use sterile material for its administration.

- Administer the vaccine at a temperature between +15 °C and +25 °C.

- If inoculation by subcutaneous route is not correct and it is carried out by intradermic route, it may produce a regional oedema of favourable evolution.

- Store between +2 and +8 °C, protected from the light.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: None described.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:

To the user:

This product contains mineral oil. Accidental injection (self injection) may result in severe pain and swelling, particularly if injected into a joint or ­nger, and in rare cases could result in the loss of the affected ­nger if prompt medical attention is not given. If you are accidentally injected with this product, seek prompt medical advice even if only a very small amount is injected and take the package lea‑et with you. If pain persists for more than 12 hours after medical examination, seek medical advice again.

To the physician:

This product contains mineral oil. Even if small amounts have been injected, accidental injection with this product can cause intense swelling, which may, for example, result in ischemic necrosis and even the loss of a digit. PROMPT expert, surgical attention is required and may necessitate early incision and irrigation of the injected area, especially where ­nger pulp or tendon is involved.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF UNUSED MEDICINAL PRODUCT OR WASTE MATERIALS, IF ANY:

Dispose of waste material by boiling, incineration or immersion in an appropriate disinfectant approved for use by the competent authorities.
